Designed to introduce the foundations of language while supporting early childhood development, Lilou follows the everyday adventures of a blue cat.
Each story is published in two separate languages: the child’s home language and a target language. Aligned with ACTFL and CEFR language-awareness frameworks, Lilou develops early metalinguistic awareness through meaningful, age-appropriate input.
By presenting the same story in two languages and systematically highlighting one core linguistic structure per album, the series supports noticing, comparison, and early form–meaning connections, which are foundational to plurilingual competence.
