The Adventures of Zéline is a limited series of five books forming a complete work of fiction, available in two languages. At this stage of development, respecting the child’s reading level in their home language is essential to nurture a lasting love of reading and to support comprehension and engagement.

The main narrative is written entirely in the child’s home language, while each book includes a summary in the target language. This gradual-entry approach allows readers to maintain meaningful contact with a second or foreign language without cognitive overload, encouraging confidence, curiosity, and readiness to transition toward reading the full story in that language.

Aligned with ACTFL and CEFR language-awareness principles, the series promotes reflective language learning through comparison, inference, and contextual understanding. By combining literary richness with carefully structure linguistic exposure, The Adventures of Zéline supports the development of multilingual skills while respecting the emotional and cognitive needs of readers aged 8–10.
